Investor J. Christopher Flowers made a record-breaking $53 million for the Harkness Mansion at 4 East 75th Street a few years ago, and paid more for fixing it up with the aim of selling this place at around $50 million, but prospective buyers are reportedly looking to pay something in the $40 million to $45 million range for the 50-foot-wide home. More interestingly, J. Christopher cleaned up this expensive townhouse to make his property shine once again.


4 East 75th Street   becomes one of the top 10 most luxurious townhouses in this city with the last sale price of $53 million while its market price is $27.2 million


9 East 71st Street


This 18,814-square-foot townhouse was last sold in 1989, but it had some significant exterior repairs in 2002. And now, its market value reaches around $30.1 million


15 East 81st Street


The townhouse is 16,233 square feet with $31 million in terms of market value. In fact, the place has been under the same ownership since 1984


5 East 68th Street


This 19,746-square-foot single-family home costs $31.9 million and belongs to Indonesia


36 East 67th Street


This place is considered as the only East 67th Street townhouse that hasn't recently been a fixer-upper


14 East 67th Street

This 16,103-square-foot property in New York City doesn't appear to have been sold since 1995 and $35.5 million is its market value now

Before this house was last sold with $24.5 million in 2004 by Woody Allen and at present, the 14,414-square-foot house is currently owned by an LLC

It needs to emphasize that 601 Park is at the bottom of the list in both size and estimated market value. Before it was sold at $31,789,500 in 2008, the most luxurious 9,400-square-foot townhouse  cost $35 million in comparision with its assessed value: $25 million
