Dancing With The Stars champion J.R. Martinez and his girlfriend Diana Gonzalez-Jones are expecting their first child together next spring. The child is going to be a baby girl. The war hero-turned-actor, who beats Rob Kardashian and Ricki Lake to become winner of the dancing show 2011, shares the news with People Magazine. The 28-year-old Iraq war veteran Martinez tells that, “We found out just last week it's a girl and we are over the moon. Diana has a little baby bump now and it's the cutest thing ever. With the holidays coming up, this is the biggest and best gift we could get”. Martinez also adds that being a father is “the greatest Christmas gift he could ever receive”.
Gonzalez-Jones and Martinez first met in 2008 at the set of American soap opera "All My Children" where Martinez landed a role and Jones worked as an assistant to the executive producer. After remaining as good friends a couple of years, their friendship blossomed into romance as Martinez shared, “We were so good as friends that romantically, we just clicked right away. There was no adjustment period”

JR Martinez was terribly injured in Iraq while serving as an Infantryman in the US Army. He was burned over more than 40 percent of his body as driving for the U.S. Army struck a land mine. JR Martinez had undergone numerous surgeries over years of recovery to get his appearance back.
Martinez shares in a recent interview, “2011 has been full of a lot of surprises and opportunities and ultimately, a lot of blessings. Diana and I were asking ourselves, 'How is 2012 going to top 2011?' Well, we have our answer”

Recently, JR Martinez has been chosen as grand marshal of the 123rd annual Tournament of Roses parade. Before winning the Dancing with Stars show, he was voted one of the “sexiest men" by People Magazine. Having a good sense of humor at everything, he said, “After 33 surgeries, I better be listed as one of the sexiest men alive”
