How Do I Forgive?

How do I forgive, when so much wrong has been done to me? How do I forgive, when so much pain and suffering had come my way? How do I forgive, when my feelings are hurt? How do I forgive, when so much death has taken place, How do I forgive? 2Co 2:10 To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;.

Forgiveness comes not from within the human, the man Adam within us all. The Adam natured person cannot forgive. For they are carnal and not spiritual. We are therefore at a separation between what, we can and cannot do. Forgiveness comes from the man Christ.

What does this all mean? The Christian when someone ask to be forgiven says; ”There is nothing to Forgive.” but the natural man says;” I accept you apology.” But he will never forget. With Forgiveness comes forgetfulness of the offence. It hurts me within, when I must rebuke a minister, lay member or an entire Church for their inconsistencies in the scripture, but at times it is necessary to obtain a growing and establishment in their faith in God.

How do I forgive, when so much wrong has been done to me? 2Co 2:7-7; So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.

2Co 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. The pain and punishment in this life is temporary, but if you forgive them that offended you in body and spirit, then the punishment falls upon him, his body and spirit, less he repents. We cannot hold a grudge, for that within itself is a sinful act and Satan has gained a foot hold in you. “lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.” Without forgiving the transgressor, there remains a danger of loosing them to Satan. Bringing about great sorrow that will burden them down and may cause them to fall, if this happens, would not their blood be held to you, to account for?

How do I forgive, when so much death has taken place, How do I forgive? Consider your life with and then without Christ. Consider your life as to the length of it. Is there anyone that will live in this world forever? Will any flesh and blood, inherit the Kingdom of God? How low can God reach and how High can He obtain, is there any place that God cannot reward or punish? To the depths of Hell, or to the width and breath of Heaven? Consider this. We are all just men, who make mistakes and have problems that sometimes overwhelm us, but that is no excuse not to forgive.

“for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Satan is an open book, a defeated foe, but he still holds great danger to those that are week in the faith. Many times He will work through the elder to get to the younger. When the younger sees an elder, break a commandment, he then starts to wonder if that is righteous, being ignorant of all the truth, seeking to learn from the elder.
1Co 8:10-13; For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

We being elders must be careful not to offend the weaker brother. We must forgive all offenses toward us, so that the weaker be strengthened in their Faith and knowledge of the Commandments of God. We are to be the example.

How do I forgive, when so much pain and suffering had come my way? Some have told me, “How do I forgive a man that has murdered, my Daughter, Son, Husband, or wife? How do I forgive such an atrocious acts against my loved ones?”

The answer I give them is simple. Jesus was made to pay for crimes that He did not commit, He was beaten, scourged and Murdered upon the Cross. After all this, God was, and is, still willing to forgive all that will call upon His name.

Hatred will not comfort a person that is not willing to forgive, it will eat at them, as a cancer does to the body. The mind of the un-forgiver is filled with too many, what ifs, and mabys.

There will be no satisfaction in hell, no peace of mind that a person, that had tormented you in this life is right beside you for eternity, none.

For if you can't or wont forgive, neither will God forgive you, and then you are lost, and a puppet to the devils handy work. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Mat 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? Without forgiveness, this world would have been destroyed many year ago, we would all be doomed to hell and eternal punishment.

How do I forgive, when my feelings are hurt? You must look at the reason that your feelings are hurt. Is it because you are in the wrong and was caught? Is it because you were in the transgression of the Laws of God, or was it because you thought more of yourself than you should have. We are no longer little children, but as the scripture says, we are a man(Spiritually,Man or Woman.) 1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 1Co 9:26-27; I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

If you walk in the light you will have no occasion to fret, worry or to have your feelings hurt as a child any longer. But offenses will come, but as a man we are able to handle such threats.(Spiritually,Man or Woman.)

How then do I forgive? Look into the person, see not the flesh but see the spirit. Is it the spirit of God within them or is it the spirit of anti-Christ. We all have an occasion to sin. For if a man say that he has not sined, he is a lier. If a man sins he must go to the Father and have an advocate with Him, to be forgiven. Those that commit, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: are those that are being deceived by Satan. Forgive and then pray that these spirits will be removed from the person and they will be set free of bondage, for remember we were all at one time the same, some one prayed for us, so pray and forgive them.
