About a year ago one of my best friends got married and their wedding was spectacular. They wanted a cheap wedding on the beach, which was not too far away to plan from home (Washington, DC). They got in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, married on the East Coast. Their ceremony was at the beach and had their reception at a beach house overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It was an amazing evening, but the best part is that it saves a lot of money. It was only some careful planning.
Here's how they did it:
The invitations
The bride has her own invitations. She ordered the paper and envelopes online. Then design and print everything ourselves. The invitations were made on the beach and theme nights out, great. She spent about $ 1.50 per invitation. She had been quoted $ 7 per invitation from a local supplier for a similar look.
The site
The couple knew they wanted a beach wedding, but busy beaches, so that during the summer, they were concerned about the masses. They decided to get married in the off-season. They set their date for the 7th October. That was a great decision, because the weather was still warm enough for a celebration on the beach, but most of the beach-goers had left for the season.
The Venue
Not to rent a banquet room at a resort (much money), they decided to create a huge beach house where they planned to rent the wedding ceremony. The house was huge and have rented a rule for 8000 $ / week, but because it was October, they were there for less than half the cost of rent for the summer rental rates. The families of the bride and groom were in the house during the weekand used the house for a holiday before the wedding. Each crushed in a small chips to offset the cost of the house.
The Wedding Ceremony
The couple had their ceremony on the beach in front of the beach house they had rented. The bride's brother, an accomplished guitarist, played the wedding music on his acoustic guitar. They found a local car rental companies, the chairs for the ceremony and also the chairs and tables for the reception provided. Everything was set up before the event. The ceremony was simple, the bride and groom and wedding party had their backs to the sea. All looked on from the beach, as they exchanged vows and joined as husband and wife.
The Wedding Reception
To receive the house furniture was moved into the garage so they could set up tables for the guests in the living room of the house. The house had a large family room, which made a great dinner area. Everyone sit comfortable and the views of the sea was beautiful. A local catering company had prepared the meals in the kitchen, beach house, while everyone else was on the beach for the ceremony. Because it was the off-season, the couple had a lot of the catering company, the little shop was at the time. When the guests came back into the house, they were seated and served a spectacular meal of fresh seafood and local specialties.
After dinner, all got together on a large terrace overlooking the sea, where a dance play iPod music through loudspeakers. Everyone was dancing and having a great time. No one seemed to miss the DJ. Instead of a bartender, the couple had just returned from coolersBeer and let people mix their own drinks.
The marriage was basically a huge beach party. Everyone had a fantastic time and the couple received many compliments. Benefit planning a cheap wedding on the beach. Just plan ahead, do not be afraid to compromise, and enjoy your party.
