Singer Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. was voted as the winner of NBC's "America's Got Talent" season 6 on Wednesday night. He beat out narrowly the dance troupe the Silhouettes in the final night. Besides the $1 million prize, the West Virginia native also have chance to headline his own show in Las Vegas that begins Oct. 28 at Cesar’s Palace. On the final night of America’s got talent 2011, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. performed a special performance of Frank Sinatra's “My Way”.
Thanks to his rich voice, vocal styling, humility and mild-mannered persona, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. has been a favorite contestant of both audiences and judges since the opening of America’s got talent 2011. Talking about the performance, Sharon Osbourne (who is best known for critical) said “You gave me goosebumps. I swear to you, goosebumps. It was perfectly sung” while judge Piers Morgan told Landau told Landau “You sang that absolutely from the heart. I can tell you now, that is the marker. ”

Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. was born in born 1973/1974 (age 37–38) in West Virginia as son to the late Reverend Cecil Murphy, a noted preacher. He enjoyed and sang songs by Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations in church from a young age. He did not notice her talent until his girlfriend (and now wife) bet him to win a talent show at a local arts and craft show in 2003. He was invited to sing each year by local charity events and did his job as a car-washer.
The 37-year-old, who was homeless at age of 19, described his winning as “surreal” and the show as “It was a crazy roller coaster ride that I've been on ... It was great. I loved it”.

Landau was homeless at 19 and works as a West Virginia car-washer at a car dealership in Chapmanville to support the family just before competing on the show. With his win, he won’t be washing cars again

After being told to come back home at first, the singer congratulated 11-year-old Anna Graceman

But when Nick Cannon shocked the contestant and audience that he was kidding, both singers celebrated together onstage

Landau’s wife Jennifer Carter and children screamed in tears in the audience while Cannon announced Landau as the America’s got talent winner. Talking about the family, he shared, “This could change my life tremendously. I just want to focus on my kids' future and build a house for my family and just live life like we should be living it”
