Actress Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to serve 90 days at the women’s Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California for her probation violation in a 2007 drug case by jailing to attend alcohol education classes. The 24-year old actress must surrender to the court on July 20 and will wear an ankle alcohol monitor until then. The judge mandated that Lindsay spend three months in rehab following her release from jail. The troubled star has repeatedly missed classes since December. The actress burst into tears after the ruling in Beverly Hills, California on July 6.

The standard of proof at DMV hearings is the preponderance of the evidence standard. This level of proof is required in most civil cases, which DMV hearings can be likened to, as opposed to the criminal court trial where the burden of proof is beyond a reasonable doubt.
